Boobies, continued

Published 10/5/07

To follow up in a more blunt way from my recent post

According to, apparently, a lot of people, if your kids see this picture, nothing will happen:

manboob

But if they see this, their minds and morals will be destroyed:

girlboob

Y’all want to explain that one to me?

Great. Now I’ve violated work policy and may be fired.

“No man boobies at work”?

It would be funny to have them fire you for the lower picture, but say the upper one is OK. You might have a good discrimination claim….

Boobies sure seem to get a lot of people in trouble these days!

I’ll tell you what - I hereby volunteer to be the “official boobie watcher”… from here on out, I will inspect all of the boobies by myself, so that none of you guys catch any grief over them…

Gnomic says:

Yea, it would be riot to lose my job. I bet my wife wouldn’t quit laughing as we picked out the cardboard box to move into.

And I live in an at-will work state. They would fire me for “inappropriate use of the internet” and I would have no basis for claim of discrimination.

You don’t need to convince me that the unamerican social conservatives want the government to control every aspect of our behavior, turning American into a theocratic dictatorship. (Funny how abotrion and brain death are slippery slopes but the government telling me how to live isn’t). Nor do I need to be convinces on the goobermint unreasonably criminalizing accidents, mistakes, and chilren’s behavior.

Still, a little warning on the images would be nice.

Like a good plastic surgeon, I have shrunken das boobies. You can still see ‘em in all their glory by clicking, but the chances of a workmate seeing them are all but nil.

Stoney says:

(A reiteration…)
The idea is that sexual context is not an acceptable display in our society, though we are pushing limits. When regarding children, we tend to mentally castrate them, unable to consider our young as ‘people’ that have the same urges and desires as people, especially the male kind.

Generally speaking, rapists are male. Generally speaking, porn is made for men. Generally speaking, Men lose control of themselves faster when exposed to something that arouses them. It has been posited that this is because of our hard-coded genetic programming, after eons of mating and fighting and feeding, we are forced into a more aggressive mindset–that is not to say ‘violent’, merely more egocentric, ‘my needs’ over ‘your needs’, ‘thinking with his pants’ sort of way–which is also generally not conducive to a civil environment.

But even if men can handle themselves in strip joints (under the watchful eye of burly bouncers and security cameras) or in the privacy of their own home (where anything they mess up is their own problem), younger male humans lack the foresight to conduct themselves with tact.

We are obsessed with controlling our children, and censoring them against things that excite them -in any way- is a hallmark of our society. Men are disproportionately more distracted by female bodies than are women by male bodies. Even if they’re still CLOTHED. Covering of boobies is done so men don’t cause accidents staring at them, and we WILL stare. ‘cos they’s boobies.

“And we WILL stare. ‘cos they’s boobies.”

That might make it to the quote rotation on the home page. :)
