One Big Happy

Published 9/19/03

Thanks to getting my news — well, headlines and links anyway — from lots of different places, I often find myself reading an article from a newspaper somewhere… but I don’t know where.

For instance, today I ended up at the Corvallis Gazette Times. I have no clue where Corvallis is. Phone numbers in ads don’t have area codes. There are references to places like “Mid-Valley,” “near campus,” and the ubiquitous “area” (e.g., “Area Doctor Going to Iraq”), but living in such a homogeneous country makes it hard to tell whether Corvallis is in Oregon or Florida… or anywhere in between.

Cool.

PS: It’s in Oregon.
