mad macks says:

so you are implying (albeit in subtle, tongue in cheek manner) that we should NOT buy Japanese, namely Mitsubishi, products?
just a joke or joke with racist underlining? anyway, you’re right i guess, i shouldn’t support them japs after what they did. and i think my grandfather’s brother’s friend’s mother’s ex-husband was injured at pearl harbor.

Nah — in fact, I’m on my fifth Toyota and I love ‘em. No political comment here.

The same could be said about the Volkswagen, BMW, or Mercedes. We didn’t NUKE Germany cause there were too many German-Americans living here. I’d rather trade autos than weapons. As Bob Dylan says: “The times they are a changing.”
War is a result of diplomatic failure in most cases.

Over the years I’ve owned almost every major brand of U.S. automobile, plus assorted Italian, British and German sports cars. In 1991 I finally bought my first Japanese sports car, a ‘91 Mitsubishi model 3000 GT-SL.

I still own it and drive it every day. It is without question, the best automobile I’ve ever owned. (Also one of the fastest.)

The Zero (Mitsubishi A6M Reisen) was a helluvan aircraft as well. In comparison with its earliest opponents - Chinese Polikarpov 1-15 biplanes and 1-16 monoplanes, RAF Buffalos, USAAF P-36 Mohawks - the Zero was in a different league, able to outperform its opponents in every spectrum of performance.

It was only near the end of the fighting in the Pacific theatre that the “Zero” was finally outdone by our F4U Corsair and more particularly, the F6F Hellcat under any conditions. Coupled with overwhelming numerical superiority, this performance advantage relegated the Zero to such short-term employment as dive bombers and Kamikaze attacks.

Did you know many of the German tanks and other vehicles were built in GM and Ford factories in Germany? The kicker is, Ford Motor Co. and GM sued the United States for losses incurred by Allied bombing of said factories… and won. After buying and several Fords and Chevrolets, I always go back to my Mitsubishi. After all, I look at it as a way of giving back for all those Japanese internment camps and well, the fact we dropped two A-Bombs on their civilians.
