First levee breach

Published 8/29/05

Levee breach near the Industrial Canal and Tennessee Street. Three to eight feet of water expected.

Why mention this? Because I typed “tennessee street, new orleans” into Google Earth and it zoomed in right to the location. Neat stuff.

The Fray

L. Jeff Williams says:

There is nothing that I like about Lakeview, but the levee wall on the Orleans Parish side was constructed as the Weaker side for a reason. To protect “dear old” metairie. I truly believe that someone up high contacted or paid of someone in the ACoE to purposely build that side weaker than the Jefferson side in case a storm like Katrina came along. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time. Yes, Conspirisies do exist. This was no accident.

Oh, 20 to 1 odds that the levees will NOT be rebuild in time for the 2006 Hurricane season.

Those white folks in meatairie should have been flooded along with everyone else.
