MORE Mac users

Published 4/15/06

“cunninghamcanada@yahoo.ca” wrote me a little gem that included this:

Obviously you’ve never actually used OSX or touched a Mac. Bill Gates is to busy paying you or sucking your limp cock.

But rest assured, YOU ARE DEAD, along with that fat ugly wife of yours, and that fucking rat you call a kid — a kid you are known to molest. The neighbours and right wing Virginia must hear the screams at night from that thing, “Daddy, daddy, don’t touch me like that.” Shameful. Especially since you are not the father, since you are known as impotent. So, did Bill Gates give you V.D. or E.D.?

And I’m supposed to have respect for people like this?

Once again, I’m getting stuff like this because of what I wrote about a piece of software.

Mac users insist they’re not part of a cult. And yet, look at the comment areas of the entries on this site. Look at the long, repetitive arguments. Look at the name calling. All because of what I said about a piece of free beta software.

It’s incredible. It’s sad.

As of 4/16, comments are closed. Make ‘em over in the Boot Camp entry.

No, you’re not supposed to respect people like that. I’ve seen plenty of childish flames like that from people that prefer Windows - does that mean that they’re all sad cultists?

Meanwhile, there are plenty of comments an http://www.kantor.com/usatoday/boot_camp.shtml that make civil, well-reasoned arguments. How about highlighting a few of those in addition to the childish flames you’ve been quoting so far?

What is truly ’sad’ is that you selected that post to display prominently on your site…as if it actually was typical of Mac users. I notice that you haven’t chosen to attempt to respond to any of the posts that have vivisected your erroneous assertions in the USA Today column. Those of us who make a nice living through daily use of XP and Tiger know that you are seemingly over your head on this subject.

OMG YOU MADE FUN OF MACS AND YOU SUCK!!!!

Yes, there are a lot of idiots out there. And yes, this bootcamp idea iss going to confuse a lot of people. But, while you’re article doesn’t exactly say “F YOU MAC USERS!!!!” in a direct sense, it pretty much beats around the bush to say “Hey, you idiots use a crappy system that runs an OS that nobody uses, you act like elitists, yet now you have the norm running on your systems….the irony of you idiots…” yadda yadda yadda.

Yet, you attack mac computer in midst of a transition… while a dell of equal screen size, camera, ram and quality is actually close if not more than a mac. http://www.macworld.com/news/2006/02/13/pricecomparison/index.php?lsrc=mwrss

Ofcourse a windows machine is going to cost, oh, 600 dollars…but then a linux machine now costs 100, so why not buy linux?

Yes, if you wanna do anything graphics intensive, dual booting is on option. If you need to access documents or do cad files, for right now, virtualiztion is an otion.

But yes, macs are useless in your mind. That’s fine, we’re all entitled to our opinions. But Apple makes some great apps. Final Cut and Shake are apps only on mac.

You should read and post the macworld.com article about your column on USA, rather some angry retard who like using four letter words.

Ahhh. The internet. Where everyone can be a functionally literate, know-it-all jerk.

The above comments are really out of line though. It’s one thing to have a problem with someone’s opinion, but attacks of those nature are beyond hateful.

With the truth being told (without all the flaming), his remark about your wife is right on, she is pretty unattractive. Not being mean, just truthful.
