Why is no one talking about a 50-50 split?

If the Dems and GOP end up in a 50-50 split of the Senate, Dick Cheney gets to cast the deciding vote in a tie. Okey doke. But that doesn’t affect things like the all-important committee chairmanships. Only once in US history has there been an evenly divided Senate — in 1881, and it was chaos.

With 2 independants - one a former democratic VP candidate - it may not be as bad as it looks. And more Republicain seats are likely to open up once the Abramhof indictments are handed down and the house investations start uncovering all the criminal acts that have been committed in private.
