Fred says:

Garbage stats. Meaningless. The source used is too small and Windows PC-centric. Nobody who knows anything uses these stats, Andrew. Better stats from Net Applications, using a wider sample, shows a truer picture:

Microsoft Internet Explorer - 79.09%
Firefox - 14.18%
Safari - 4.85%
Opera - 0.79%
Netscape - 0.74%

Andrew says:

Not having the methodology and size for either data set, I’m not willing to say either way. Can you point me to where they give their sample sizes? I can’t find it.

Maybe Fred is saying:

“First get your facts; then you can distort them at your leisure.”
Mark Twain

or has just proved:

“There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.”
Benjamin Disraeli

But more than likely it’s a case of:

“The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple.”
Oscar Wilde
