I have found that most of the groups, somewhere during sign up, where you can miss it easily is an area where you can a) have an alert sent when new items, posts or emails come in or b)when you visit the site then you can opt to see the newest posts and get no email alerts. It seems they already have it set for “a” so you physically have to change it to “b” so that you don’t get hundreds of emails. I made the mistake, once, only once…………

Here is a link to the info about duplicates, I am a group owner and had it hit my groups and other groups I am a member of. One of my users was using her cell phone for new emails. It cost her dearly.
Not only was it duplicating messages, when I would go to delete the duplicate messages that were waiting for approval, they posted anyway, so I just quit interfacing with the group until the problem was solved.
