Sam noticed that the volume on his computer had been turned down after he walked away from it. “I can’t hear the badgers,” he said.

“Mommy must have turned it down,” I replied.

“Why?”

“Because it was very loud. If Mommy has half a brain, she knows you won’t come back for a long time. And I think she has half a brain.”

Sam: “No she doesn’t.”
