Positive story
Two negative experiences in a row is a but much, so I wanted to share something positive.
I switched to a laser printer from an inkjet because I rarely print in color and a laser is much less expensive to operate. (We actually bought two Samsung ML-2510s, and they’re wonderful.)
Anyway, I went looking for where to get cheap refills. I could buy a Samsung brand cartridge, an off-brand cartridge, or I could get a refill kit.
If you’ve ever read your spam, you know there are a lot of toner companies out there, so I spent a heck of a time figuring out which was good and which wasn’t.
So lemme save you the trouble: TonerRefillKits.com. Yep, it’s a lousy name, I know. But I took a chance with a refill kit for my printer and spent about $40 instead of more than $100.
I got lucky ’cause my printer uses cartridges with a handy refill hole, but the store also sells this fancy hole cutter you can use. The instructions were disturbingly clear — they look like they were written by a real writer, not some English-as-a-fourth-language techie.
Refilling took about 5 minutes, three of which I spent reading the instructions to be sure I didn’t miss anything.
Most cartridges can be refilled at least twice before the internals get all screwy, after which you can buy an empty one and toner separately. It saves a ton — I went from paying about 10 cents a page for an inkjet to 3 cents a page for the laser, to 1 cent per page for the refilled laser. Cool beans.
So yeah, TonerRefillKits.com — highly recommended. (Ditto for those Samsung printers!)
Oh — two other things. To get an idea of the quality of writing in the instructions, read the “About Toner” page. Good stuff.
And… you get a bag of M&Ms with every order. :)

Dear Andrew:
We are delighted to hear of your success with our TonerRefillKits.com products (not that end user success is not the norm, just that these days, very few people take the time to share their experience - thank you for that.)
As for the company name, I deserve full credit or blame (depending on your take). Though we had been in the toner cartridge remanufacturing business for over 15 years before selling our first toner refill kit on line, I wanted a name that wasn’t “Xerox-esque” (what the heck is a “xerox” was the initial reaction, of course, now everyone knows). I wanted a name that people would look at and immediately understand what we offered.
My thoughts were, “What will we be selling , what is the product, what does it do, what will people search on?” The answer to all of those questions was, “toner refill kits” which made me think, “That should be our company name and our domain name, as well - TonerRefillKits.com”
With breathless anticipation, I checked on the availability and found the domain http://www.TonerRefillKits.com was available (that was nearly nine years ago so domain “real estate” wasn’t as hard to find as it is now) so we took it and have used it ever since.
Moving forward eight years, we sought out the counsel of a “branding” expert for a one-day consultation. Swelling up with pride, the first question I asked was, “How about our company name and URL? Lucky we have it, isn’t it?”, to which he replied (get ready to pat yourself on the back), “Your http://www.TonerRefillKits.com company name stinks!”
He then spent the next 30 minutes telling us why he felt that way and that we needed a “brand”. Fortunately, we had branded our ReChargX products from the very start and the direction we will move is toward our http://www.ReChargX.com web site as the main focus with the http://www.TonerRefillKits.com web site as the store where you buy ReChargX.
Now that I have bored you to tears with the admission of my guilt in the naming process, I will add one thing about the inclusion of the M&M’s with every ReChargX order from TonerRefillKits.com.
When we first were packing customer orders on a table in our spare bedroom (those cozy “home-based-biz” days are long gone), we were discussing what little something we could put in the box as a “thank you” for their order, a little “pat on the back” for a refilling job well done and I came suggested a little gadget, a puzzle, etc.
My better half said that was lame and we should include candy, since in her world, “Everyone loves candy.”
I said it was a stupid idea. She said people would love it.
Well, what was I thinking? Being male and a husband of nearly 18 years at that point (now going on 27 years of wedded-bliss this July), I should have just accepted the fact I would be wrong, once again, since we get more unsolicited compliments about the candy than we do about the ReChargX toner!
That’s it for now. Thank you again, for the kind words as our business truly depends on tons of individual users around the world just like you (And as always, the final thought I will leave you with is if there is anything we may do, change, add, improve on (or if we somehow let you down), we really do want to hear about it.)

P.S. Being animal lovers (with two fantastic mutt rescue dogs, “Kitty” and “Lucy”), your current coverage of your vet experience is dead on target. There are a number we have run into over the years who simply view the animals they owe their very livelihood to, as pains in the neck they simply have to move through the revolving door and could care less about their safety, feelings, condition, etc. Pets serve their people unswervingly and deserve the same in return. Keep up the heat!
