Government database of Americans’ travel is compromised
If you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to fear, right?
Ha.
“Federal Agent Indicted For Using Homeland Security Database To Stalk Girlfriend,” is the headline. The story:
Benjamin Robinson, 40, of Oakland, Calif., was indicted by a federal grand jury in San Jose Wednesday in connection with allegations that he accessed a government database known as the Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS) at least 163 times to track a woman’s travel patterns.
Nice to know that:
1) The government is busy tracking individual Americans’ travel (not just unlawfully bugging our phones)
2) The government has a database in which it stores all our personal travel information
3) The people with access to that database have apparently not been screened very carefully
Somewhere in the mountains of Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden is laughing his ass off.

Gnomic says:
Bin Lauden isn’t laughing at the lost of our civil liberties. He’s laughing at the fact that we are led by a complete damn fool. Lets look at the facts:
1) BL doesn’t have many resources, but Dush is happy to put most of our in a place where they can be relatively eaisly killed, at great cost to the US, in a war we can’t win, in a place that helps BL build his forces.
2) Bush still hasn’t secured America’s cargo ports, chemical plants, nuclear plants, or even given our first responors a working communications system, giving BL plenty of soft targets where he can expect much the same results.
3) BL is still alive to savoy his plots against us becuase Bush attacked Iraq. He’s still alive and knows we are led by a damn fool (Bush) who uses toture to accomplish he means, showing that he’s just as ineffectural as any petty despot.
BL is laughing at us just as Bush is, watching our democracy fail under bad “leadership.” Only Bush is too dumb to realize it. Bush just thinks hes doing the right think. Too bad no one read him a history book.
