Mac fanboys do some selective editing

Published 2/6/08

Linus Torvalds, the father of the Linux operating system, said the following at a Linux conference in Australia regarding Windows Vista and OSX:

I don’t think they’re equally flawed - I think Leopard is a much better system. [But] OS X in some ways is actually worse than Windows to program for. Their file system is complete and utter crap, which is scary.

So Leopard (the latest OSX) is "a much better system" than Vista, although in some ways it’s worse to program for. And the file system — note, he only mentioned the file system — is "complete and utter crap."

So what do the headlines read?

"Linus Torvalds: Mac OS X is ‘Utter Crap’," according to PCMech — which is patently untrue. But it makes for good headlines, I guess.
