A slimy McCain ad

Published 6/13/08

mccainad I just noticed this on my site. There’s a McCain ad that asks “Is it OK to Unconditionally Meet With Anti-American Foreign Leaders?” (The answer, by the way, is yes, of course it is. Meetings shouldn’t have conditions. Agreements, yes, but if we imposed conditions on any anti-American leader, we wouldn’t have a lot of people talking with us.)

But that’s not the problem. The problem is that it appears you’re given a choice — a Yes box and a No box. But the boxes are fake. No matter what you click, you go to the same place.

To me, that’s slimy – that’s the kind of crap you expect from “Click the monkey to win a prize” ads, not from a candidate for President.

I guess McCain feels he needs to trick people into clicking through to his site.

I think a complaint to Google Ad Services is in order.

This is a common trick of many ads. It doesn’t matter which option you pick - they aren’t even real buttons. In this case, it isn’t even a real question. No matter what you answer, it will be spun to McBush’s advantage. newsmax (or is it newsmarx?) is just another GOP hate group.

But I hope they don’t get banned. I enjoy clicking on them, knowing that you are getting a few cents from these evil hateful bastards and I’m entering all sorts of fake email addresses that will bounce or subscribe them to newsgroups that are sick and twisted as they are.

Wonder how you would feel to know your site is recently covered with John McCain ads. :-p

I just blocked McCain Ads from my site. It took forever to get the URL of that ad since it is a flash file. I finally thought to do a web search for the text and found this site. I am also reporting the ad to google.
