Your body knows when it’s fat

One way to reduce obesity is to strap on some weights. Wearing a weighted vest seems to trick the body into thinking it’s fatter than it is, found Swedish researchers. After three weeks of wearing differently weighted vests, people who wore the heavier vests had lost two pounds, and people who wore the lighter ones lost 2/3 of a pound.
The new study indicates that there is something comparable to built-in bathroom scales that contributes to keeping our body weight and, by the same token, fat mass constant.
