Convenient result from a cancer study
Published May 13, 2020USC researchers have found that a “fasting-mimicking” diet, combined with doses of vitamin C, has a “dramatic effect” on cancer cells: It kills them all.
“We have taken two treatments that are studied extensively as interventions to delay aging — a fasting-mimicking diet and vitamin C — and combined them as a powerful treatment for cancer.”Wow! Amazing! But wait just a moment. First of all, the research was done on mice, it was done in vitro, and it only affected certain cancers … albeit the most dangerous kind. But here’s the kicker: The senior author “is the founder of and has an ownership interest in L-Nutra; the company’s food products are used in studies of the fasting-mimicking diet.” And: “USC has an ownership interest in L-Nutra and the potential to receive royalty payments from L-Nutra.” So yeah, you need a pretty big grain of salt for this one.
