T. Rex running the long game

They may have clocked the T. Rex at 32 mph, but new research from geologists (!) at the University of Maryland seems to show that those long legs may not have been about catching prey as much as they were about running far enough to find it.“The assumption tends to be that animals with adaptations for running, such as long legs, are adapted for a higher maximum speed, but […] those adaptations may also be for endurance and efficiency. It may be about being a marathoner rather than a sprinter.”
